Solarization!
in these photos i used photoshop curves to solarize the picture and in the last picture i made it black and white. i like this effect. it changes the colors slightly and makes them more vibrant and contrasty to create a cool effect.

Portraits.
In this assignment we were working with artificial and natural lighting. In this first picture I used artificial frontal lighting. On photoshop I did a surface blur and lightened it and added a lighting effect that looks kind of like a vignette.
In this picture I used the sun as my light and this is also frontal lighing and on photoshop I cropped it and added a lense effect to brighten the picture and add depth.
In the last picture I also did frontal too and added a photo filter on photoshop to make the picture warmer.

White Balance
In this assignment we were playing with the white balance on our camera's. In this picture I used the flourescent light setting on my camera. Then I photoshopped it to bring out the colors more.

A Day In The Life Of An Old Dog...
For this assignment I decided to do a day in the life of my dog, Bernie. He's pretty old and doesn't do much but eat and sleep. For these pictures I changed the ISO for each depending on the lighting. For most of them i had to use a large ISO (800-1600) except for the one on the upper left conner i used a lower ISO like 400. Sometimes it was difficult to find the right ISO because he's a black dog so sometimes when I used a low ISO he would look like a black blob. So for the picture on the upper right corner I used a high ISO even though it wasn't very dark because then it allows you to see the details in his face.

Artist Statement
I create art to express myself. It helps me express things I can't say in words in a fun and creative way. I'm inspired by everything around me. I'm inspired by the nature and animals around me and the city with its tall intricate buildings and wide variety of people. I show this in my work by taking pictures or drawing places or objects I see in my daily life. So far in my life I've taken two photography classes and draw in my free time. This semester in digital photography I would like to learn how to use my digital camera and photoshop better.
